Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW - Newbie saying Hello

    Hi all,

Just recently purchased an 07 Jetta TFSI. Black in colour with 18 inch VW Vision Rims, Sat Nav, Sunroof and leather seats. Previously drove a HSV VXR and was looking for something that had a sharp look, has a bit of grunt and that could double as a family car. Really happy with the purchase and the car drives like a dream. Macquarie Pass was a delight in this car and the DSG gearbox is sensational. Still don't know as much about the car as I did with the VXR but a couple of months I should be well taught - I hope.

Just a few questions which I can't quite get the head around:

    1. How do you activate the rain sensing wipers?
    2. Is it possible to retro fit a VW bluetooth kit to the existing sat nav unit? Would it also be possible to connect Ipod/iphone?
    3. How do you swith on/off the air con? Doesnt appear to be a specific switch.

You will love the Jetta after the Astra...I most certainly did.

The rain sensing wipers come on themselves when needed.

The aircon switch button will need to be pushed in,so that the setting is NOT on economy, and yellow light goes off.

    Enjoy,enjoy,enjoy,and congratulations.

Thanks for the welcome mate. Had a bit of rain in Sydney during the week and no matter how long I wait the wipers do not autmotically work until I switch it on. Thougt there may have been an on/off button somewhere - I'll take it into a VW service dealer and find out. Thanks again.

        Welcome.

If its anything like the Golf, lift the handle 1 notch up, and use the sensitivity dial ontop of the handle to adjust. You may have it set to least sensitive and unless its bucketing down, they wont come on.
