Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACT Golf MK3 1997 1.8L CL slight misfire issue ..

First of all .. this is my very first post ever in forums so go easy on me

I have a Golf MK3 1997 1.8L CL (158,000 KMs) , lately noticed a slight misfire with the car , it drives normally but when im in my driveway in idle and i push the gas between 1200-3000 RPMs the engine RPMs go down by 100 and then up .. and i hear a sound from the exhaust ... like small misfire sound, the misfires get more frequent when i go up to 3000 RPMs .. the ride is perfect , i just need to know if this is going to develop into something major !!
i haven't taken the car to a garage yet .. but any ideas about the problem would be great !!

    Cheers !

Sam, sadly not able to offer any mechanical help. Do you know of a guru VW workshop in Canberra? Can any one recommend a VW specialist in Canberra???
      cheers
