  • NSW Finally found a vr6.

    hey everyone,

ive been looking for a well looked after vr6 for about a month, and i have finally found one.

I picked one up tonight for $3800, but it has 220 k's, and am flying to melbourne with a mate tomorrow morning to pick it up. I dont get my license back for another 2 months and am dyinggg to work that engine and fix the interior up. Anyone have any good sites/shops too pick reasonable gear up from.

    cheers

Hey mate, 3800 is an absolute steal if its as mint as you claim. Congrats on the purchase!!! Dont worry abotu the kays, they go for ages...jsut a case of "is it your turn" to fix it or has it already been done. (timing chains etc)

What you planning on doing to it?

Most of your parts will be coming from overseas most likely.

    Enjoy

haha i know man, the car was on the net for 25 minutes. The owner has APPARENTLY kept it in a1 condition, and i gather hes a vw enthusiast as he just grabbed a MK4 GTI.

Im killing for some wheels, but i cant justify paying 2gz, if i could find some second hand 18's, something like the kspeed biaggis

and this white dash that many peope have sets off the interior, do you know what it is called/where too get it, and also a magnaflow exhaust system, ahhh, im getting tooo pumped up!

18s are too big for a mk3, especially if oyu want any sort of low. Those wheels are nice, look really good on libertys, perhaps could look good on the Mk4, but not feeling it for a mk3. Plenty of commies run them too.

Check the Mk3 appreciation thread for some wheel ideas.

Magnaflow, I think Rocket Industries is the aussie distributor, I got my magnaflow through the local guy, Mickey got his from Magnaflow direct in the States.

Nice find there mate, looks pretty clean from the pics.
Is that a cream leather interior? If so, thats not standard but looks nice none the less

Please please please dont put those wheels on the car, and I wouldn't advise anything bigger than 17s. You would be surprised at how big even a set of decent 16s will look on there!
Drop it with some coilovers/decent springs and shocks and a nice set of wheels and she will look sweet!

seriously? its not standard? i honestly had no idea it wasnt. Yeah ive changed my mind big time on the wheels, looking more at MK5 R32/GTI replicas from tempe tyres, good sale on atm, pick up 17's for around 1g, not too bad
