Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi everyone,

New member, following the rules and posting for the 1st time. Just picked up a new Multivan Highline.

The van has bluetooth but doesn't sync with all phones inc iPhones. Any idea whats happening here? Dealer just told me VW are working on this. Do I believe him?

    Hi,

only works with Nokias I'm afraid. If you want to get something working, your options are here http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f78/...510-31461.html

      Thanks Sam,

Seems antiquated if it only works with Nokia. Is there any word if VW are doing anything to bring it up to date?

No word yet, no. Your best bet is to do a skoda kit.

The reason it only works with Nokia is that it is a system that was developed by Nokia and uses a protocol call rSAP (remote SIM access protocol) to access the SIM card turning the car into the phone, rather than using the aerial/hardware inside the handset for making calls. It's great in theory but it's pretty much only Nokia phones that support rSAP.
