Hi all,
I found your forum when looking for information on the new golf deisel and found your information usefull so thought I would join you all.
I have a manual golf mk 6 deisel and have had problems with it stalling. When pulling away one has to be spot on with clutch and revs or it will stall, no margin for error. Deisel cars are normaly very forgiving in this regard, in my experience much more so than the petrol equivalent.
This car also will stall immediately if you in error start bringing the clutch up in fourth gear instead of the required second gear on a down shift, most cars would give a judder and therfore a warning enabling you to put in the clutch and select the correct gear with no stall. With my golf it's "bang" and stop, no warning, if you are making a right turn infront of on coming traffic, a safe gap my turn into an unsafe one very fast.
I was wondering if I am the only person to have had this problem?
