  • VIC Just paid deposit on MK VI GTI :D

Hi All, I've just put down a deposit on a White Mk VI GTI 5 door DSG, getting it tomorrow or monday depending on when funds clear.

Ive seen the APR stuff, but need to check out warranty issues, anyone else modded their VI?

Also, the stock brakes suck, i'm thinking about getting better pads asap and selling the stockies. Any reccomendations?

hey man, how's it going? welcome!

apr is pretty tried and true. i dont know of anyone in the polo section, at least, who has had any issues, and if they had, it would have been minor and fixable.

as for pads- ebc/ferodo are a couple of the usual suspects. lots of people are digging QFM pads these days too.

    enjoy!

Cool, got the car and it's going nicely, still only 280km on it though so need to wait before any mods take place.

Anyone know if it will affect warranty?

APR are switched on when it comes to warranty concerns. Obviously if you go stage 2 or 3, you won't be able to hide it from the dealer, but would be worth asking APR on their take as well forumers. But if you had an issue, it's a case of not getting pushed around and BS talk. If a wheel bearing went, and they claimed no warranty because of the APR mods, they'd have to have a reasonable technical justification for pointing the finger. i.e. if the R32 used the same bearings, then you could easily argue back by comparing engine torque specs. With the stage 1, as I understand it... with the latest offerings for the GTI the security lockout feature will prevent the dealer from knowing the ECU has been reflashed.

Are you coming to the APR open day / sausage sizzle Scoots? In Bayswater on Sat 13th.
