Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Just got my Passat CC125TDI

    Hi Everyone

I have just taken delivery of my Passat CC 125TDI. I went for the Icelandic Grey (very boring choice, but it does look good!), Adaptive Cruse, Sat Nav, Reverse Camera & Park Assist. I've only seen a couple on the road and the other drivers keep waving at me! Have I inadvertently joined some sort of secret society? This didn't happen in my Camry!

So far I'm very happy! This is my first Volkswagen AND my first diesel car. I didnt actually drive the diesel version of the car before I purchased it, but it goes better than I thought it would. I've already brought a box of rubber gloves for the car. You get that stuff on your skin and the smell will not wash off! I'm still struggling with the indicator and wiper stalks being reversed. Many times I have gone around the corner with my wipers going rather than my indicators!

I don't know much about diesel cars and the dealer hasn't been much help other than handing me the manual. So what do I need to know??? Particularly about service intervals and diesel issues.

    Thanks for your help!

    Glen

Try to use a good quality diesel, BP is reccomended in most cases that i have seen.
You may also need to invest in some diesel conditioner to add after you fill up.

I don't really know what else to say other than welcome and enjoy the new ride.
If you could put up some pictures it would be great to see your car

      Passat CC diesel

      Hi,

You made the right choice, dispite not having driven one before. I have had mine for 6 mths and am very happy. I did not do anything special. I got mine at Chatswood and they were very good. I had a check up at 7,500 kms and will be doing a 15,000 km service in June. Basically service every 15,000 kms. Try out the different gearbox modes and see how much different it performs in sport or manual mode.

      See you on the road.
Passat CC 2.0 TDi and loving it.

OMG - upgrading from a Cccccccamry to a CC. Are you sure your system can cope with such a dramatic shift

And yes, you have joined a secret society - that of those who know the pleasure of dubbing haha

try and find some really steep hills and load up that engine as much as possible, will help to bed rings. Your diesel won't be fully run in until around 70,000ks, though.
