Mk VI GTI on the water.

Upgrading from a 2000 Forester GT (got it 2nd hand) ..funny to think it nearly cost as much as a GTI new back in 2000. My budget was much lower, but drawn to the appeal of the new GTI after not finding anything I liked anywhere else. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

It's a pretty big upgrade and I'm now having second thoughts that it might be too much $ to justify when the Mk V is such a good car.. sounds pretty funny, but what am I really getting for the extra $10-15k over a S/H 2007 GTI, practically? There's got to be some sense in it.. why did you guys get a new one?

Hi poiuy, welcome to the forum.

I know its a fair crack when you comparing to a S/H as you said GTI of 2007. Look at it this way, the new Mk6 has newer styling, i think more appealing dash, and foremost 3 years younger and 0Km and 3 years worth of factory warranty. Also knowing that you are the first ever owner and the car has never had any mishaps (mechanical/body) surely would be worth the extra dosh.

Mate, don't think about it anymore. You've done it and just enjoy the car. It WILL be awesome when you get your hot little hands on that hot little hatch.
