NSW VW polo GTI Gearbox need fixing

Hi,

i have a POLO GTI 2006/7

so my gearbox is essentially fkd as VW dont recall their cars.

if i get a new gearbox, how does that fare with like a gearbox rework?

...Is there some gearbox upgrade so it can take more gear shifts than the standard one which will break again and again? Like does someone have any experiences with performance gearboxes...do they even make that?

If you post a new thread with as much info as possible in the Polo thread, you may get lucky and Jmac may respond. He's our resident Polo mechanic on the forum and has been looking after quite a few Polo's in Brisbane.

I believe we are running the same gearbox in some of the Mk4 Golf GTI's, so you may be able to get a used one from a wreckers or some similar scenario.
