  • Buying a Jetta - dealer delivery time

    Hi

I do not own a VW yet. I am looking to purchase a Jetta as I have a baby coming soon. I then will look to get a VW as a second car too.

I am wondering how long should i accept as a delivery time for a 2010 Black 77tdi Jetta.

I have been told by one dealer that it would take 4-5 months. Whilst another dealer has said 2-3 months.

    Thanks
    Pete

Depends on what options you want.

You could be lucky and find something suitable already in the country. or if you are being really specific and need to have your car built to spec it can take 4-5 months.

Best bet is to figure out what colour and options you want then start calling dealers to see if they have one.
    currrently... MY10 GTI | DSG | Candy White | Sunroof | 18's | BT | MDI
previously... MY08 GT TDI | DSG | Reflex Silver | Sunroof

I am looking to get a Black 77tdi with comfort pack and bluetooth. Nothing that out of the ordinary!

The 2010 Volkswagen Jetta TDI has more surprising attributes than you would expect from a turbo diesel powered vehicle. It is an economically sound car, as well as having enough torque to let the driver have a sufficiently fun.

My new car arrived this week.
Took 118 days from ordering to pickup.
Almost 4 months to the day.
They generally overstate the delivery time so that you don't get angry i have found.

Just becasue you are looking for a base spec doesn't mean there will be on e in the country, in fact it's likely to be the opposite.
They load them up with options up here to get the most out of customers who want a car now and will pay a premium to get it even with options they don't need.

I would call every dealer within a 50 kilometer radius ,to see what is available when...

The Jetta is a classic car, will be an awesome purchase.

I Guess you know Jetta ran second to Golf 118TSI re "Best cars 2009", (Previous year first place) has a few items such as
optical park system, have to pay extra with Golf. But if you can afford it, go for 103TDI. 6 Speed DSG not as smooth as 7 speed
but a LOT more get up and go.

                Hi guys

Thanks for the feedback and thoughts.

I ended up getting a Platinum Grey 77tdi, bluetooth, mdi and comfort pack.

Love to hear people experiences with this car or pointed in the right direction to existing forum posts.

I was tempted to get the 103tdi ...... just could not full fit the budget. I hope i do not regret it.

Regarding tinting ...... is there a specific tint darkness that suits the platinum grey the best ?

                Thanks
