Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    NSW Does your dealer know?

    In my case, after stumbling on this fantastic site, I was able to ask my VERY VERY helpfull (Country) dealer many searching questions.
    After signing the contract today (Golf 118TSI several options) I gave him a copy of the web address.

    Now, why does VW Australia not inform dealers of this fantastic website? (Or of course, perhaps just a problem in internal communication?)

    Plenty of the dealers know about this site. I'd guess that most don't always like all the probing questions and price comparisons that go on since it makes it harder for them to keep their margins.

      (Hey, I thought you dissapeared over the top of the aircraft carrier, no trace found, on a recent replay of TOP Gear shown on Austar! Missed the next eposode!)
      Sales manager I dealt with, who went out of his way to assist with questions etc, was very eager to have details of this site as a source of information.
      Regarding myself, perhaps would have been happier not knowing of potential problems, but as result decided on extended warrenty!

        I have asked my dealer to see why he doesn't come on the forums.

        Apparently he used to but kept getting asked for "mates rates" and huge discounts becasue he was a forum member.
