The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • NSW Adaptive chassis Control (ACC)

    Greetings all

From retired X-Ray engineer, now enjoying treee change in Southern Highlands

About to order 118TSI Auto DSG and will now include extended warrenty (Peace of mind)
    Including RCD510, Camera, parking assistance,

    Will give dealer deposit tomorrow

Still not sure re Adaptive chassis control. Looks good on paper. Dealer has had little experience of it, considers it not a big event. EG, suspension
already very good, and excellant seats. But retirement in Southern Highlands means travel on many substandard roads, with many partially filled potholes and erratic camber changes.

Appears a must have for GTI, but still of some use with 118TSI? (Cost not a problem)
    would value your comments

    Cheers and many thanks
    Ian

try the search function, been covered a heap of times already.

    IMO a waste of money.

if u are considering it, drive both and make your own conclusions.

      Many thanks Steve
As new to any forum, let alone this one, still fumbling my way.
      Redirect most helpful.
Have ordered Golf 118 TSI with RCD510, camera, park assistance (For the sensors, and tilt mirror, not for self parking) AND extended warrenty!
But cancelled ACC. Will rely on supurb seats to cope with local roads.

        Correction
After reading article on Wikipedia, (search title 'Active suspension') was able to change order
        Now includes ACC
        Fingers crossed

cossor, interested as to why the change of mind ... what specific made you tilt over?

          - been reading abt this too. ACC is relatively new to VW brand. offered in Audi`s RS class (premium price range) known as magnetic ride.
For many reasons, on RS range of highly tuned performance cars, one could see the logic of ACC inclusion.
(active suspension modes on offer since wide range of vehicle capabilities , race, track, sport etc)

          just curious thats all.

Forget what the people who didn't want to pay for it say. ACC is brilliant. My wife and I test drove it extensively. It works a treat.

If the cost of ACC doesn't matter, why on Earth wouldn't you get it ?

AND it fills one of those horrible blank buttons in front of the transmission !

BBP, I'm with you 100%! Unfortunately I couldn't afford it... ...and I hate the blank buttons!!!

Cossor, if you can afford, go for it, please!

                Re change of mind
Was concerned ACC new system, subject to possible teething problems or reliability.
BUT, re reliability, have taken out extended warranty (Concern re reported engine failures, since corrected)
However, still luke warm, although very interested re comments for ACC in Tiguan, and GTI, also with larger wheels.
"Tipping point" was to read Wickipedia article, giving better description of what is involved, plus a comment "When hitting a single wheel bump"
Emphasis also on around ten years use in many luxury vehicles, (Article gives make and models) so not a gimmic
Interesting, is requirement for high speed computer power. Gee, I hope Golf has multiple processors, and more than one module!
Local dealer, VERY, VERY patient, has apparently little experience with ACC, and was more concerned re value for money.
As for me? Darn it, delivery around September!
                Cheers all
