Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Noob post :-)

    Hi All,

    thanks for a great forum.

I'm new to the VW world, just purchasing a 2006 Jetta 2.0 FSI - great little car, love how athletic the engine is - heading off to see the APR guys this year to see if a little tickle can improve the incerdibly ordinary DSG clutch.

I also have a 300KW HSV GTS coupe as my weekender and a Subaru Outback as the family truckster.

I'm keen on exploring the VW, this engine combo seems quite untapped.

i'm also an engineer in the electronics field, so you'll probably see me hanging around the ICE area and the drivetrain area.

    regards,

Enjoy your Jetta, they are a fantastic car.
I sadly had my MY07 written off last month by a hail storm in Melbourne...and am getting a new Honda Accord Euro next week to replace it.

Hope I enjoy it as much as I loved the Jetta...
