Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW First time vw owner

    G'day All.

My name is Eddie, i am from Sydney's eastern beaches.

On tuesday last week i purchased my very first vw golf mk3 cl for my fiance, i got it at a rock bottom price but the car needs work, for example all shocks, all brakes and some small fiddly bits and pieces.

I have owned nissan's all my life and still do but i have been so impressed by the build quality of the golf it may convert me to a euro daily driver in the future.

Im hoping to find some vw sydney wreckers here and maybe some parts for sale, i am involved with several car clubs and will certainly come along to NSW meetings.

    Thanks.

    Welcome Eddie,

The Golf's are a very built car indeed.
Me having owned many Japanese cars in my time, I will never look back for a daily drive.

Saying that I will probably never sell my RX7, Morris Mini or VH Valiant Charger.

Absolutely i still have a massive passion for nissan's tubro motors, but seeing as i will be getting married shortly and starting a family a solid safe vw looks to be the go in a couple of years time.
