  • NSW More VW's from EU!!

passion for VW GTI's been on/off during years,
my mates build MKI with G60 and had a few Golf-Corrado projects.
They loved the 8V G60 engine, easy to boost the turbo.
The vW's tuning parts where so cheap and axcessable from Germany and England.
I had my 1st MKII GTI 16V, (that was originally a 1.6l CL) year 1999.
Did the GTI 16V facelift inside out and changed over the whole GTI 16V technic, EASY!

I took it for its first ride from Finland to Holland in a few days, did the autobahn in no time
The speedo was at and over 180km/h the whole way.
The challenge was to get to the Helsinki-Stockholm ferry and from there to Denmark in -20'C (January) and WITHOUT winter tires. I had the beast lowered 60mm and 205/50/16 rubbers.
I was sliding away the whole way to Denmark where the snow was almost gone haha!
The beast was so freacking fast it left most of the other GTI just like that,
unfortunately some Dutch wer liked it more than me so had to fly back home 12 months later

And now im looking for another toy to take me to work with a joy from Central coast to the city
Would prefer a MKII 16V or G60, but MKII VR6 is an option.
But realized its hard to get 16V and impossible to find G60 here downunder

    hiya,
yes sorry to say 16v and G60 mk1 and mk2's are hard to come by. but they do pop up so keep an eye out.
also there is a mk2 VR6 in the forsale section on this forum.

also out of the box, standard aussie mk2 GTI's are slow! but they still look great )

good luck with the car hunting
