  • WA New Bora owner

    Hi All,

My old car (n14 pulsar, sr20ve, wilwoods, 200hp atw) got written off due to hail damage, so I decided its time for something a bit nicer to drive.

    Bought this today.
    2002 VW bora v6 4-motion
    2.8L narrow angle V6 (147kw / 280nm)
    6 speed manual
    4motion AWD system
    Leather, sunroof, electric everything

I drove this, and knew it was a step over other stuff in the price range for combination of looks, sound, performance and comfort.

    Current mods:
KW Variant 1 coilovers (pretty slammed atm, haha)
Custom 2.5" cat back (replaces the HUGE rear muffler - pics to follow)
    Audi A8 18x8" replica wheels
    BMC Carbon air intake
Superchips Chip (apparently worth 15hp on a std car)
    DVD/bluetooth 7" head unit

Some pics from the for sale ad:

    Plans:
    Wind up coilovers a bit
    Haldex controller (more RWD bias)
    brake upgrade (maybe)
change woodgrain interior parts to brushed aluminium
possibly a change of rims to OEM VW R32 18's to look like this (opinions welcome!):

    Thanks for reading

    nice pick up.

yea i definately like the r32 wheels.

dont think you should raise it, seems to be a good stance for the car, and with KW's the likelihood is that its not doing any damage.

nice, and welcome to the forum

id like to keep it lowered for looks, but it bottoms out a bit too easy, and has some nasty camber wear all around. Probably only go up 10mm or so.

              was pretty close!
inconsequential anyway with the mods, may put it on the dyno one day

It sure had no problems keeping up with my vr6 and r32's on cruises. Great car

(Although sikbora used to complain that it bottomed out on rough outback roads!!)

                        Welcome to the forum mate!

I used to have an N14 SSS as well before the Dub haha, damn haven't been on ppg in years!

I saw this one for sale recently as well and thought it was sikbora (Dan)'s old ride although it could have changed hands a few times since then. What was the story with the replacement engine?

                        Cheers

the N14 was a lot of fun, but a pain in the ass to drive sometimes.

Car has a BMC CDA, and I think the previous owner had the air intake tube right down in the guard, went through a big puddle and hydrolocked the motor.
I have the reciept for the replacement of the bottom end, as the old one had bent conrods and scored cylinders.

Looks good mate, the r32 wheels are great for that OEM+ look. How do you find the KWs?
I like the height it is, a little scraping or avoiding carparks with ramps never hurt anyone.
