VIC Opinions wanted before becoming a VW owner!

I am looking to purchase a Dec 09 Caravelle (standard spec) to cart 2 adults and 4 kids (under 8yo) around.
It is grey white with ~1300km and 12 months rego.
I can have it for $40,000 drive away.
They will also add the new car extended warranty for $1700.

Are these good prices for each, or should I not worry about the warranty until the time comes.

Really looking forward to owning this vehicle because it is absolutely fantastic!

Sounds about on the money

Hi,

We bought our caravelle T4 V6 in 2006, 2 years old $38,000 with 67,000km so your proposed buy sounds about on the money. With 4 kids you will love it. I love it and we only have 2 kids at this stage. My husband lost the arguements and I got the car we could all grow into and we have never looked back except we would have preferred a turbo diesel as this one is rather thirsty.
But in terms of flexibility and just ease of use I am the envy of my friends.
We travelled 17,000km in it with our camper trailer (on road mostly) around Australia/WA and it was dream to travel in and sit for such long periods. I personally think no other people mover comes even close. Good luck.

To be fair the title is "Newbies corner (First Posts)", perhaps it should be "Newbies corner (Introductions)"?? Lots of people assume it just has to be a post not necessarily an intro.
