Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Hey there

Another TSV based dubber here. I'm very jealous of your current and future rides! I've got a silver mk4 GTI. Thinking about upgrading to a new mk6. I test drove one a month and a bit ago, amazing. Did you deal with Pickerings locally? I'd be interested in the deal you got from them.

You confident in selling the R32 before August?

          G'day dancet,

Yeah, I ended up dealing with Pickerings locally. Was speaking to a few dealers down south too (including the mob I got a good deal from with my R32 previously). I ended up with a slightly better quote from NSW, but with having to fly down, drive back and register in QLD it wasn't worth the hassle. Matt was very easy to deal with and gave me a decent deal off the bat (around 10% full RRP drive away - inclusive of Corporate discount) and gave me a decent trade-in value (as far as trade ins go) for my R32 - trade-in value locked in now so don't have to worry about selling when the new one arrives in August. I would be happy to recommend Matt and Pickerings - no rubbish, no stuffing around, good upfront initial offer and local. Also, I think it helps to have bought the ar locally when it comes to servicing (I know that I have had to really twist their arm on occasions when my R32 has gone into service when it came to a loan car - The service girl at the time has told me they try to look after people who have brought off them first in terms of the "extras" when it comes to loan cars/etc). Makes a bit of sense I guess too keeping local loyal punters happy.

I know it's not the best deal on a GTi seen on this forum, but ultimately I am happy with what I am paying, and what I am getting.

          See you around the "Ville,

          Zac.
