Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA Bought our first Golf

    Hi Everyone,

We bought our first Golf 12/04 V5 4 weeks ago. I have been browsing this forum & waited until we drove it to Mildura for easter. It was a complete pleasure to drive compared to the EL wagon we traded for the Golf. It had a couple of issues when we purchased it. The caryard fixed the door control module, but cannot find the intermittent problem with the accelerator. The problem is you press the accelerator & nothing happens, no revving of the just feels like its run out of fuel. If you lift your foot off & press again it takes off like a cut cat. Solitaie dont seem to know either. I am hopeing someone on the forum can help me.

    Thanks in advance
    Dave

I'd take it to GermanAuto or one of the other VW specialists in Adelaide. I have VCDS/VAG-COM and would happily scan it for you.
Does it do it often or very intermittently? Does it have cruise and will that accelerate the car ok?

      Hi h100vw

It does as you are trying to accelerate around a corner or pulling out into traffic. Over the long weekend it played up most of the time. Do you have a contact number.

      Thanks
      Dave
