  • WA Hail damaged repair.

Hi all! I got hail damaged on my Mk5 TDi. It so bad the beaters are replacing most of the panels including the roof. What I want to know is, is it safe remove the roof and fit a new one? Won't it affect the structure etc... can someone enlighten me...

Did you have full comp Insurance? If so, why isn't it been written off if it is so bad, especially the roof?

Have a look at this thread ( http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/show...ve-hail-damage ). It's very long, but I think it was in here that some-one was talking about the roof on MkV & VI Golfs being laser welded, and the technology to properly repair being unavailable in Aus.
