new to vw, looking for a golf

hey every one, my names tom, im 23 and live in perth, i currently drive a silver 2004 honda accord euro with some conservative mods (coilovers, camber arms, 19" work miester s1's, roof section sprayed black, all important stereo) i work at albert car stereo in cannington and am a qualified chef!! i seem to have fallen in love with the mk1/mk2 golfs and am searching for one as a project, i just missed out on one today by a few hours, a 77 4 door for 500 bucks :/ i hope to learn alot here and hopefull even find my dream beater and turn it into something special,

my love of stance, fitment, low offset and all things 3 peice is what led me to wanting a mk1, seeing so many of them on stanceworks and sites of the like... iv got a bit of a chubby for alot of the old school dubs, i wanna build a rat style splitty on bags, and a static dropped oval beetle... but wanna do the mk1 golf first!

image shack is being a pr*ck, theres a shot of my euro if anyones interested, front sits about 3/4-1" lower now, not that you can tell from that photo but the sump is about 55mm off the ground d2 coilovers, ingalls rear camber arms, work miester s1's 19x8 +38f and 19x9 +35r... not the biggest stereo in the world, not my style, iv gone for quality over quantity, my philosophy for most aspects when modifying a car if anyones interested in audio specs let me know and ill put em up

dude welcome aboard! i know EXACTLY how you feel! as i was in your position only 2 months ago! its love at first sight for so many of us with the mk1's.. i mean, just look back to my introduction thread and its basically the same as yours!! now i've got my golf, its advancing every single day, and is my absolute pride and joy! just keep your eyes and ears open, and i'm sure you will find one soon!
