Hi all,
woodsy from Orange NSW . Purchased a new Skoda Scout facelift ( white 2009 compliance plated) from Lennocks in Canberra last October .
I love the Golf 2.0 tdi but wanted a wagon and all wheel drive and a bit more ground clearance . The Scout ticked all the boxes !
Use it 98% of the time for work around central west NSW and some trips to Sydney . Travelled 20,000 km now and love it . Heaps of torque down low . Cruise at 100km/ h at 1750 rpm . has averaged 6.2 litres per / 100 km . As low as 4.9 on down hill run to Sydney from Orange .
Very Happy so far . No oil used . Tow a small caravan occasionally ( 10.5 litres/100 when towing the van which is fantastic!) , so have 10,000 service done at the VW dealer in Dubbo. Just up to 20,000 km now so will do 2nd service tomorrow using castrol VW spec oil I bought from the the VW dealer .
Car has been perfect so far .
Would like to get a bluetooth phone kit in the future .
Any other scout owners out there? I have only seen 3 other Skoda's west of the blue mountains in last 4 months .
