Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • ACT NEW from the ACT

Hi All, I am new to the world of VW. Although I have always liked the Golf etc. I am currently looking for an A to B car with some "get up and go" and which I can also have fun with. Maybe a MK2 or 3 GTI?

I have been looking at the Pug 306GTI6 and also a 205GTI, but I am concerned about how often I hear the remarks that the French don't know anything about reliability! SO...I thought I would look further afield. I have even been considering a cousin of the VW Golf (SEAT Ibiza GTI) any thoughts?

    Cheers.

Well, It turns out I have managed to get myself an Ibiza GTi Cupra (Black) with 66k on the clock and seemingly well looked after. I am looking forward to getting to know her once I have cleaned her up and know what I am really looking at!
