Hi folks,

I have been trolling this site for the last few weeks as I narrowed my puchasing decision (you should have seen the intial list!) Anyway, at the end of the day, after testing a Mazda 3 MPS and the Golf GTI, the VW got the win.

So this week I found my CSG 5dr DSG GTI, with leather , 18's and MDI in stock and it will be all mine on Saturday the 6th of March 2010. (I don't know how anyone can wait six months!)

Got a great deal after finding out about Corporate discounts (Thanks folks!) and used the cost spredsheet to calculate my offer price immediately when the dealer rang back from my enquiry, deal done in 48hrs.

After HSV's, WRX's and a host of jap buzz-boxes, I am looking forward to a bit of Deutsche qualitat (yes thats how they spell it) from Wolfsburg.

So when the beast is in hand I will snap it all angles and post away for those wait-listers to drool over and see when I can get in on a cruise in Vic soon.

dont baby a new engine, drive it like you normally drive the thing. The hills are the best place to run in a new car!

Thats all the encourgement I needed! I am sure there is a reference to the Black Spur in the running-in section of the owners manual, replaces Nurbergring in the German version.

just dont keep it buzzing around the redline the whole time, load it up going up some of the hills, use the gears liberally and you'll be fine
