Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Howdy all!!

    Hi lads and ladies,

My name is Mannix, living in Ireland. Born in Sydney but here since I was very young. I'm a big VAG head and am currently building a 1.8t mk2 golf. I came across the site by a google seach for info on the build, looks great.

    Anyways, here's my baby:

Just a few bits gathered, along with crashed 00 S3 with apy lump!

Welcome Mannix! Gosh that Mk2 sits low on the TH Monos. Would be damn cool once 20VT is in and the car sitting on those RMs! More pics!
    Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
    Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

Thanks, I'll try keep it updated! It won't be sitting quite as low when I have the 1.8t in. The RM's will have bigger lips too if all goes to plan I've been collecting parts for the last while, sold my ae86 to fund the rest. Quaife ATB to be ordered during the week.

Any pics of that? You would've gotten pretty good money for it regardless of condition (if you guys in Ireland suffer the "Takumi Tax" like here).

I got 5k euros which was good considering very few have money to be splashing around here now, I owe the bank 5k but decided to spend it on the golf instead!

Here's the cam, I like a lot of old skool cars not just VW but I'll never part with the golf!!

ps; forgive me for posting the ricer but only doing as I was asked

Hi all, big changes since I was on last. Car is finished but unfotunately the black shell was too rust so here's how it all ended up with the new shell.

I'm heading to Brisbane in January and would like to get to know a few dubbers in your neck of the woods. I'll start a members car page later. Looking forward to talking,

                Mannix.
