Hi,
My name is Vaughan and I have just purchased a 2002 Passat from an auction in Brisbane. I did not intend to purchase a Passat and instead was looking for a solid yet cheap run about car for my Uni (have taken 3 years of work to do a law degree).
I have owned an Audi A4 before and have also always liked the Passats hence when I saw this car going for so cheap I could not resist the purchase, much to my wifes surprise! (I was going there to buy a cheap astra or similar)
I have had to replace all brake disks, rotors and cv shafts for a road worthy. The car is now registered and ready to go, still at a great price.
The only problem with the car now seems to be a slightly jerky take off. I hope this is not indicative of something more terminal. Otherwise I am so far very happy with it.
I always remembered reading magazine reviews about the great quality and reliability of these cars, however now I read some of the horror stories on the web and hope this purchase does not bit me in the bum.
Cheers
Vaughan
