NSW Greetings and seeking confirmation on golf 6

Greetings all moderators & members,


I would appreciate a quick confirmation on the VIN.


I just bought a Golf VI 90TSI and been told that the VIN is WVWxxx1Kxxxxxxxxx.
My limited knowledge says that Golf 6= type 5K12G5 while Golf 5 = type 1Kxx.
Shouldn't I see "5K" in the VIN instead of "1K"?
To rephrase my question, does my VIN says I have type 5K12G5 (which is Golf 6)?

I am 100% that 1K chassis is mk5. Not sure what the mk6 is. I bet you can find it on google though.
