Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hello Everyone,

    Just joined the forums as I have purchased my first Australian MKII GTi 8v.

    Had a couple of 16v MKII's when I was a lad back in England, had a couple of old Scirocco's as well. Never lost the urge to buy one over here.

    Spotted a mint red MKII in Melbourne at a dealership at the weekend, with some persuasion from the wife, we had a chat with the very nice dealer owner and it is off getting its roadworthy today..

    Cannot wait to get it... wish I had the limited eidtion gold BBS alloys I had all those years ago...

    Look forward to being part of this community, learning a lot and reliving the past!

      Saw the flyer at the weekend, live in Eltham so will absolutely be there.. would be great to do the cruise as well, will add my name to the list.

        My new car... stock 1990 MK2 GTI. 163K on the clock. fastidiously maintained by the one previous owner - only done 3,000 in the past three years. very happy to find one in such great condition...
