Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Greetings,

My name's Al and I live in Mel.

I have purchased a second hand 2003 Golf 2.0 SE for the misses and am now finding it increasingly hard to not think about said car. I currently drive a late model Mazda6, but notice a level of quality difference that is $%@ing with me (considering the age difference of the cars - 5yrs). So, what to do now?

I looked at the 2010 Golf GTI online last night , and did not sleep well. Is this normal? Have I developed some problem?

To alleviate the pain, I have decided to test drive the GTI (just to get it out of my system ). I'm sure normality will ensure after the drive, and I can come back to my lovely 6. (mental note: Must leave wife at home....)

    Wish me luck I guess.

If you are already interested, I'd say don't drive it if you can't afford it...
