Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      It is a known issue.

you can either coat is in plastic-dip, scratch it with wet sandpaper to bive a matte look of just cover it with something.

          Thanks for all the advice.

VW want to charge $810 + fitting for the matt finish surround from the standard Passat!

$5 for wet and dry sandpaper or $5 for a can of plastic-dip for the same/similar result.

              rear spoiler on r36 wagon

Hi all has any one elso had an body kit come loos on your car.
I have a black R36 wagon an on extremly hot days teh rear spoiler lifts off the roof.

I have it booked in to be replaced but wanted to know if any other body kits were causing any greif.

I have had previous experiences with other model VW ( Bora and Toureg) and have had similar experirnces.

              Cheers
