OK, after the partial lemon that was my Golf IV I've returned to the VAG fold - with a Skoda Octavia Scout. Seems fine so far, although the gearing is stratospheric.
In NSW at least there are very few Scouts available - and no new stock until April/May, if you can believe salespeople. I traded an 04 Outback on the Scout - the new outback is too tall and too long with an awful interior!

Woodsy here ( andrew) . Had my candy white ( facelift ) scout since october and love it . swapped the headlight protectors ( wrong type for pre facelift sent by spare parts bloke) for a rubber boot liner from Skoda dealer in canberra . A good useful item fits like a glove and stops all the stuff sliding around the boot wearing out the carpet .
Maybe catch up one day . where are you located ? I'm only a newbie to this forum so a bit green on looking up details of other members yet .
