Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • A Most Informative Site

    Hello all.

I bought my first VW (Golf R32 MkV Black 5 Dr) in June 2009, at the time not appreciating the following the card had, and the many ways one can find to spend money improving it, or simply making it look different. I bought it because I love a V6 in a small car, test drove and rejected the GTI at the time.

Then one day I ran into one of your subscribers - jeloz I believe. I saw his car at the Neutral Bay post office with painted black mask and Audi DRL's. from that day I started to look at things to do, the rest is history... (so jeloz, you've cost me a lot of money !!)

Since purchase I have done the following mods:

Replaced front mask with OSIR Gloss Carbon mask (twice, first one didn't fit well at all)
Replaced rear valance around exhaust with OSIR Gloss Carbon mask
Replaced mirror surroundings with OSIR Gloss Carbon surrounds
Added OSIR Gloss Carbon surrounding DSG
Added OSIR Gloss Carbon insrets to side of ashtray/dsg area
    Had the APR chip installed
Had the AWD controller replaced with a Haldex controller
Added OSIR stainless footrest over the rubber one standard
Upgraded the firmware on the Sat Nav

I have the following parts still to install:

Install OSIR stainless shifters in place of the black plastic ones.
    Install Audi S6 DRL's
OSIR Gloss Carbon surrounds of Audio system and A/C etc

Following are in the mail on their way....

Rear Camera kit from the UK to complement rear parking (non optical) sensors
Premium Bluetooth kit from Poland to replace standard bluetooth kit I have already installed
Bojo Trim Removal kit from the US

    So plenty to do.

A note to jeloz - I rang the guy who installed your Audi S6 DRL's, Harry, to see if he could do them or me, he wasn't interested, apparently your job was "a pain in the" you-know-what !!!
Working...
