  • V6 or V5 Bora

    Hi, new member kevink here.
Firstly I would like to thank Matt from Camden GTI for the great job he did in converting my VR6 from auto to manual - a totally different car to drive.
I am looking at buying a Bora 4motion or V5. Does anyone have an opinion or experience on which is better and also auto vs manual. Just a little wary with the auto from the vr6.
    Thanks

I don't reckon there is an auto 4mo so problem solvered!!

I personally don't like the idea of the V5 much, just seems to go against convention too much.

From what I understand, the V5 is basically the V6 engine with a cylinder missing. From all reports it's a decent engine, producing 125kW in later versions. But you miss out on the 4Motion (AWD) of the V6, and you can't get it with a 6-speed manual either (5-speed manual or 4-speed auto), and I don't know if they were as well specced as the V6 either in Australia (all Australian V6s got leather, sunroof, I believe 6-stack CD in the dash, etc).
      Nothing to see here...
