From GTi to R32

Hi all,

Well i fell in love with the 3dr Mk5 R32... s sold my beloved Mk4 GTi and 2 days ago finally got the R. Its a beautiful 2006 model in the only colour that counts... blue!!

Looking forward to many days listening to that exhaust...

Good stuff mate and welcome, did you go for a DSG? If so how are you finding it after driving a manual?

i think this forum is going to be invaluable.

yes i went the DSG option... i spent a good 6 months testing R32's before i was actually ready to buy, but needed to see the difference between the 3dr and 5dr and the DSG and manual.

Found out i could live the with DSG as we all know its a pretty amazing box for an auto (yes its i know its technically a manual)...

and had to go the 3dr... fell in love with the line that runs from the side mirror, along the window up to the rounded back/side window... just gorgeous!!

now need to figure out what mods come first hehe

welcome mate, great choice. Im not really big on DSG but they are great boxes. The first mod you should do is disable the flap in the exhaust. Just disconnect the pipe that is coming to it and enjoy the sound!!
