    Hi all

My name is Matt and I have been in the Vic Vw scene for about 10yrs and always in an air cooled vw. However for the first time I have moved to the other side with the purchace of a 79 Golf.

I have just converted it from an auto to a manual and hope to have it registered for the Portland Drags in Febuary.

As well as the "new" Golf I own a 76 Microbus and a 59 Beetle.

    Cheers

    Matt

Thanks Dom. As soon as I work out how to post pics I will put some up.

James I am suprised that you even remember that night as you looked very refreshed......... Any way that car was found to be more than a little rusty so the Motor and Gearbox has been placed into the auto "parts" car. Come to portland and see how I drive it.

        Cheers

        Matt.

            Hey Guys

I think I have finally worked out how to post photos.

Here is some pics of my cars. The Kombi is an unrestored Microbus and at the moment my daily driver. I got it of the original owners daughter. She and her father had keept a log of every time they had filled with fuel since it was picked up from the dealer in March 1976.

The Beetle is a car that I had known about for years and got from a family freind. It is on club plates and waiting on a full resto when money, space and time permits.

And of course the Golf. My other half had talked me into a Mrk 1 Golf as we were looking for a car to replace the kombi as my daily driver. I also wanted a car to use in some club motorsport. The fact we were after a car for motorsport, a daily driver and on a tiny budget ment a Golf was the go.
This one is an auto that I got from a mate. I have converted it to a manual using a donor car. Once I have it registered I will post more pics in Mrk 1 thread.

            Cheers

            Matt

Nice collection of VWs you've got there. That micro bus looks very clean for an unrestored example You just need type 3 and you'll have all the bases covered!

You do know about the Aussie Veedubbers forum don't you? Great resource for when you restore the bug - http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/Site/Welcome.html
