  • NSW white mkIV GTI under new management

so hi everybody, i just bought a very good condition mkIV GTI from a really lovely recently retired couple on the northern beaches and im really happy with it.

i was originally looking for a S15 200SX but after driving a few of them i was a bit underwhelmed and it was the same with other jap cars. theyre fast and all but they just didnt seem very special or exciting to drive so i decided to go back to what i know, mkIV GTI (shared a '99 with my brother). i set out to find the best condition and lowest km car i could find and i think ive done that ..also i love the colour because 95% of the ones i see r black or silver and our old one which my brother still has is red so it was a real bonus the one i chose was white ..actually that was one of the main reasons i chose this one and it does look really good in person.

the car, good and bad points:
bog stock mkIV GTI build date 04/01
    42000km!
immaculately maintained by lady driver, its a real credit to her good self
serviced by derek at european autotech
    no remotes, just keys
timing belt and water pump not yet changed
original tyres (with plenty of tread) getting old and noisy, bit of vibration.
some spring fell out from under the passenger seat ages ago (see pics)
EVERYTHING working properly, locks and windows operate flawlessly.

so im rikard and thats my story ..enjoy the pics

p.s. these r the pics r from the carsales ad, the purse is not mine.

Welcome to the forum Rikard. Looks like you found a quality GTI with low milage. Snowy on this forum has an awesome white one too. They do look great in white. Be sure to check out the mk4 section, lots of useful info in there.

Welcome Rikard, the LB9A is arguably the best colour to come out for the Golf That's a nice find though!
            Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
            Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

thanks peoples ...so i was planning on getting a set of siata wheels in a few weeks or months coz the tyres on the car r the ones that originally came with the car (apparently) and theyre pretty noisy and vibrate a bit but i was washing the car today noticed one of the tyres had grown a cyst so im getting a new set of tyres tomorrow.

              rik.
