Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hello my name is Rich, was a member on here a year or so back but had to rejoin, some people may recall that at that time i was in the early stages of supercharging my mk1 golf and my mates polo, all went well and we made a few quick charged dubs, we attend nearly all the big shows and little ones in the uk and europe, however at the moment me and my wife (Jo) are in India, 4 months into a 12 month adventure cycling around the world, and wow are we getting bored of not seeing any dubs but i know there are a fair few in oz and some of the best mk1s i have seen in a long time, really hoping to meet up with a few of you guys along the way and get a vw fix! We are starting in perth and heading straight along the coast to sydney for 3 months before finishing the trip in nz.

Look forward to seeing one or two of you along the way.

Happy new year down under dubbers, hope you are all recovering from a very nasty night on the beer! Thanks for all the welcomes. Any of you Perth guys up for showing us the ropes like cheap supermarkets good campsite etc when we get to Australia, as we usually find that the first day or two in new country work out the most expensive for us. still waiting for my mate to email me pics of my car from back home so i can post them up on here.
                    Thanks

Which suburb in Perth will you be staying in? My wife does the shopping in our household and she has a good eye for a bargain, she usually shops at Coles supermarkets and IGA supermarkets. She buys her fruit and veges from a small, dedicated shop in the local shopping mall. Only buy milk from a deli if you can't get to Coles or IGA, otherwise you'll probably be paying too much for it.
