Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all

My 95 VR6 golf has recently started leaking water really badly. It has about 130,000 kms on it if that makes a difference?
It seems to be coming from the front of the engine.
I really have no idea what i'm going to do or how much it's going to cost so.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

My Partner thinks i may just need to water pump replaced but when I told him the Water was coming from the engine he didn't know what to do.

I heard there's some product you can get that you mix in with the water and it seals in little gaps (if it even is a little gap!)
At the moment I'm just stressing cos i really can not afford anything lol.
But I can't just let my baby sit in the garage.

I hope someone can get back to me.

    Thanks!!!! : )

    Jess.

      hey jess!

first off let me say welcome to the VWW forum!

ok, so youve got a leak somewhere, if you are 100% sure its water, the best bet would be not to drive it anywhere you DONT need to go before you get it checked out, best option would be to see a vw specialist mechanic around your area, always check your water level, if you dont know where that is, then ask someone who does

hope that helps, and be sure to ask questions, there are very knowledgable people and also a few vw mechanics on this forum, you'd be suprised

        Hi

        Well thanks for that!
I'm not driving it anywhere bcos once i put water in the car it just instantly comes out.
Like the other day i had to stop the car cos the tempreture went up bcos there was no water in the car. I then had to get my car towed from Artarmon to Cherrybrook lol. My mum wasnt impressed as she helped me pay for the towie. I wasnt gona leave my car there so
        But!
I got under the car and took some pics and its definitly coming out of the engine at the front.

Is there a way i can attach pics to my replies?

I've been googling like engine leaking water and here;s one i found that sounds similar to mine..

          hey,

yes you can attach pics using a website like "photobucket" basically sign up for free, then add what pics you want from your computer, then simply post them up here, make sure you copy the image code suited to "forums" ect with the [IMG] at the start and end of the code
