Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC G'day from Melbourne - Golf GTI 92 Mk2

    G'day,

first post, to introduce myself and say thanks for allowing me onto the board.
I've inherited a Golf GTI. Black, 1992 Mk2, 8 valves, still in good nick.

I'd like to learn a bit about the car and the culture, with a view to tidying it up, and advice on the best place to sell it. Would love it to go to someone who will appreciate it, ie: restore it well, and enjoy it. Definitely a unique car.
BTW I was referred to the board by a local VW service centre - good advice.

    Cheers - ifjoe.

        Pics soon

Thanks all. I definitely plan to post some pics - should be in the next few days.

Have just gotten it cleaned and detailed, and in under cover. There's a few trim pieces needing attention, but nothing that looks out of control.
Definitely scrubs up OK - IMHO the Mk2 is the classic GTI look - big bumper and twin headlights (remember I am a newbie, and don't mean to cause any ructions - just my 2c).
