Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA UK to WA

    Hi folks,
thought i'd pop in and say hi.

Migrated to Perth 3 months ago from Essex in the UK.

Just bought a '04 T5 19tdi SWB. She needs a tickle here and there but will be perfect once done, im a mechanic by trade and am a VW and Subaru specialist so im well equipped to play. Need to sell my xr8 to really get this project going though.

Already have some great 20" wheels, but want to get it lowerd ( can anyone advise of a supplier of springs here in WA ) ?

Plans are to fully colour code white, wheels, springs. will be fitting removable seats in the rear as i have kids. But need the space for my hobbies ( large RC cars, mountain biking and Quads )

In the UK i have owned a few T4's and the last one i sold just before comming to Oz. it was a VR6 long wheel base with twin sliding doors. i went all out on that with a full glass out respray, upgraded brakes all round, lowerd and stiffend suspension. 18" Nuvolari replica wheels. quad exhaust. I had buit in units inside with a fridge, dual charging, tv's etc. i went the whole hog ! lol.

A couple of mug shots of the VR6.......

Anyways, maybe i'll meet a few of you at Day of the Volkswagen on sunday 6th.

    Andy.
ps. if you need a mechanic....... contact me
    I want an EOS :(

welcome to WA ScoobyDoo and to the forum.

Springwise, I'd recommend looking at importing them as the WA market might tbe too small to cater for your niche requirements. You'd also typically save over $100 by importing, and I presume you will instal yourself

Prices ex US are pretty reasonable, and freight costs ex US are a lot cheaper than ex Europe

      Answers?

      ScoobyDoo,

Sunday is the big day of the year for VW enthusiasts. Most answers should be able to be answered on the day at the show.
