Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi All,

Bought new Tiggy, 125 auto + comfort pak in Biscay Blue for my lady. Delivery Feb 2010... hope the old Peugeot hangs out that long.

Looking at possible ECU upgrade to 189kw / 402Nm from APR at $1,995. Anybody out there tried one of these? Also what affect did it have on your insurance - viz : meltdown...?

Nearly bought the cream leather, but decided against it due to it getting too hot in the summer. Given the posts, a narrow escape!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The 125 + chip (190) is a great idea if you want an increase in performance out of the beast.
I haven't read about anyone's insurance being voided as yet due to the chip.
Your warranty will be removed if they can link it to the faulty part though.

Leather is not really worth it imho as you could get it done in proper leather by an external body for about 2.5k

      Nice colour choice as well

Drove the 125 Tiggy and found it a bit flat. My lady has had everything automotive from TR6 to modded 3.9 Rangie, to original 1275 Cooper S, so she likes a bit of go... which the current Pug sady lacks. Kids gone - so fun time again..

Hey mate welcome. When I got my tune, I told AAMI about it and it didn't change anything. They actually couldn't even find what area to categorise the modification in!

Good luck and keep us posted.

it may end up costing you 10-20% more on your premium, but its only money!!

make sure you do declare it tho, and make sure its officiaslly noted on the policy, otherwise if you ever make an insurance claim, the insurer can refuse to pay the claim if they believe you have misled them.

make sure you shop around too as its quite amazing how much variation you will find in premiums, especially for modded cars
