Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Greetings from Sydney

Hi Guys, have enjoyed the information on the forum so far, I currently drive a 2000 Pajero, been a very reliable car and I intend keeping it, Im getting up near 50 now and want a car with comfort and a bit (or a lot) of performance, very interested in R36 Wagon, dealer informed me about a 6 month wait if I want factory fit options (Dynaudio, satnav,) less time without options, could anyone advise is the Dynaudio upgrade worth the money and does the satnav work ok, I have read about some software issues, or would I be better off getting aftermarket stereo and satnav, I love hard rock music but want a decent system in the car, many thanks.

    Hi SteveA

Most of the R36's we sell have Dynaudio and the best advice i can give is if you love music and crisp sounds then the Dynaudio is definately worth it. The noise really fills the car beautifully!

Whats the bill on the sound system upgrade?

Looking at the interior, it may be difficult to get an aftermarket system sitting nicely in the dash as it does not look like a normal DIN system.

Dynaudio make some good monitor systems, so it makes sense to go down the factory path as VW to tend to have good audio systems over all.

        Hi Noone,

The Dynaudio system is $2,000 plus stamp guty plus Luxury car tax so you are looking around $2,793
