Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi there HELP

G'day from WA to all members, have recently purchased a 2003 VW Golf 2.0
and must say a very nice ride.

Having a few dramas finding Brake Pads for it though, want to replace front and rear but can't seem to find rear pads made by Bendex?? does anyone know if they're available and what are the part numbers??? also was a bit suprised that pads have worn out after 44,000km

Also Bendex makes 3 types of pads Standard, Heavy Duty, and Ultimate can anyone recommend the pads for standard city driving??

Really wrapped in my new ride but pulling my hair out chasing pads.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

G'day Mark, I'm no expert, trust me! Wouldn't the brake pads be Bendix? If the pads are worn after 44,000km that would suggest to me that the car had been braked rather hard. That's my uninformed guess, there could be other explanations, of course.
