Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hey guys, fan of the old school, possible euro convert

Hey everyone, what's going on. My name is Benjamin, and I'm quite a fan of the old school, 70s/80s in particular. My main interest has always been Toyota's, my first car was a 1984 Toyota Sprinter AE86, and now I drive a 1985 Toyota Corona RT142. I work on my cars myself, have learnt so much from them, and love taking them to the track for drifting events.

Lately though, after browsing a lot of American sites, I'm becoming quite interested in the old euro scene, however I know nothing about them really, so that's what brings me here! One day I would love to own a MK1 or 2 Golf, but only if I can afford to go drifting with a second car at the same time, so we shall see.

Anyway, here's some pics of my Toyota's, past and present

And now driving this grandpa car

Currently awaiting my new suspension so I can do this

Thanks for reading all that if you did looking forward to learning a bit about these cars

Welcome buddy. Thats a brilliant example of a well modded 86, and even the Corona looks dope with poke

Quite a few people here (including myself) who have come from the old school Jap Import scene.
