NSW Golf V Air conditioning Vents

Hi Guys,

this is my first post so plas bare with me.

I have just bought the wife a 2006 Golf 2.0 FSI Sportline.

Being new to VW's I didn't notice that the airconditioning vents are missing the little directional sliders.

I've spoken to VW and they want $110 per vent. Given I need the 2 x side vents plus the 2 x centre vents I'm up for approx $450

I've managed to find a guy wrecking a Mark V and can get them all for $100.

My question is does anyone know how I firtsly remove the current ones and install the new ones ?

Hmm, not sure how to remove/refit, but had you considered not worrying about them?

I set mine when the car was new and haven't touched them since.

Hi Gerhard,

Not a bad idea only that I like the cabin to be at 18 degrees and my wife would prefer it at 25 degrees. Because of that whenever she gets in a car I'm driving she immediately moves the vent away from her. The things we have to put up with !

Welcome aboard. They don't call them "SHMBO"s for nothing

I have no idea on the vent outlets, but I know the driver's RH one is often replaced with a pod for a boost gauge, so maybe search for sellers of vent pods and see if they have on-line "how-to" instructions.
