Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        New member also

        Hi Tiggy
I am also joining this forum which looks great and great to see Australian based.

I also have a 125 TSI, ours MY09, park assist, manual blue. We Love our Tig and I am sure you will too.

I think the 125tsi's have been underestimated a bit. Seems the TDI is by far the favourite with many overlooking the TSI (know we almost did). Have been very impressed, very tractable engine, has plenty of go and fuel economy is proving very good when driven economically (6.5 to 7.0 l/100klm becoming regular now on hwy trips).

        Enjoy

        cheers

          Looks pretty nice.
125's are definitely my favourite, with apr they can be 190's.

Look forward to your input and queries in the forums.

            Why the Tig

Hi there, When you were looking for your new car, did you check out Foresters etc. If so, what swayed you towards the Tig.Do you intend to go off the bitumen at all.

Funny you should ask - came from a Subaru Liberty 4wd wagon (1995, so getting on) and did look hard at the current range. Found the Forester a bit plastic and didn't have any techo goodies like the Tig - not for a matching price anyway.

Was sort of waiting to see what the new Sub range had, as (owing to a stuffup at the VW dealer due to original sales guy leaving) I wasn't too sure what exactly had been ordered. In the end was a toss-up between a new Outback or staying with the Tig, which had been ordered correctly - so ended being an easy choice.

May never go seriously off-bitumen, but just like 4wd traction and driveability in general, regardless of surface.
