Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

@Frankenstrat - That's the Fabia, based on the Polo. It had the PD 130 unit which was nothing but a pleasure to drive. Oodles of torque and good performance (not to mention economy) and nobody knew.

I've had a decent welcome so far from the locals, thankfully and I'm looking forward to getting amongst the scene here.

@GoFlMan - Thanks for the welcome, although I don't think I'll be around for DOVW, but if I can, I will.

So the missus is from good auld Monaghan? I used to frequent it quite often in the Fabia actually, good roads. I'm liking the Failte Towers!

Evorobin, if anything goes wrong with my car I'll beat it with a branch. "Right! Well…this is it! I'm going to give you a damn good thrashing!"

Darragh, my apologies for not knowing more about the Skoda Fabia. I must say, I think it's a handsome looking set of wheels. I've no idea why it wasn't available in Australia. And if ever you find yourself in PErth, you should have turned right at the roundabout!
