Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi All

    Hi Folks,

Just took delivery last week of a new Golf V GTi. Very pleased with it so far. Doubt I'll ever go back to a V8 after driving this and best of all the wife and kids like it! Anyway, I've been absorbing the loads of information on the forum for the last few months. Hope that I will be able to make a useful contribution in the future after I attain some real world experience as VW owner.

    Cheers.

    Nice purchase.
Any pics or specs you wish to share.

If you want to get some more power out of the GTI, look for a chip to boost performance.

      Thanks Team V

Just a garden variety 5 door GTi. Red, DSG and sunroof. My preference was for white with cloth trim to keep the cost down but the choice of vehicles was limited. This was the least expensive option combination. Anyway, very happy with the outcome though. I have migrated from a Toyota Echo so needless to say the change is profound! For what it was the Echo was a great car. Cheap to run and 100% reliable in the 5yrs that I owned it for. I hope the Golf will be as trouble free and many more times as fun.
