Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi all! My name is natalie and i am the proud owner of an mk3 .

I dont know a great deal about mechanics but i give it a go if it doesnt sound too hard, i generally dont trust mechanics with my car unless i know them well or come highly recc. by a fellow golf enthusiast.

I live in the Albury/ Wodoga area which means there is only ONE vw dealership.. who like to empty my bank account everytime i go in there. I dont go there unless i need parts now.. which has been a while.

hope to be able to help and get help from the rest of you mk3 lovers!

Welcome to the forum Natalie. Most jobs on the Mk3 are certainly doable with a helper + basic tools. Use the Mk3 forums to your advantage and if you can't find what you're looking for, just make a thread!

              Hello Natalie,
I am often down your way and I think I have seen your car getting around, is it the grey Mk3 2.0 GL or is it a Blue Passat and you wear a red wig when driving?

                  Hey Nat

I lived down in Albury/Wodonga for about 18 months not long ago. Is there still a very nice tuned and dumped mk4 GTI getting around with a bit of a geeky guy driving it down there?
You should post some pics up of your car.
