Amarok before 2009 tax bonus expires!?!

Hey guys,

Me and my workmates are really hoping to be able to pay for and order in advance the Amarok before the small business tax bonus finishes on the 31st December.

Is anyone else in the same boat and has anyone previously been able to pay for a car in advance of launch??

I dare say if people register their interest on this thread than vwaust may take notice and provide some kind of advanced purchase option if one isnt already planned, after-all, it is a commercial vehicle...

Amarok will be launched officially in Argentina in the 2nd week of December; Australian launch is mid to late 2010.

Who knows? perhaps the government will extend it into next year to keep the momentum going.

My advice from people in (relatively) high places is that the small business tax bonus is highly unlikely to be extended due to the expected economic recovery.

For all those that don't know, small business' can write 50% of the cost of a vehicle (up to the luxury vehicle threshold) on tax for vehicles purchased by the end of this year and delivered by the end of next year (2010).

Surely it couldn't take that much arm twisting to convince VW to take peoples money a year in advance!?!?! What company would say no to that kind of positive cash-flow?!?

Its the dealers who have to finance the vehicles, not VW. Dealers buy the vehicles "off the boat" so to speak (hence the big kerfuffle about dealer finance earlier this year, when the GFC bit).

You may find a receptive dealer, but there may also be conditions on the tax bonus thing too (something about taking delivery ?).
